Jan is an outdoor and travel photographer from the Czech Republic whose career started at 17 years old when he returned from a study exchange. He is our first creator whose work we'll be featuring in our new segment — Creator Spotlight — to bring you closer to the artists on the Featured marketplace.

Jan, how did your career end up in photography?

My career as a photographer began after I returned home from a study exchange program when I was 17. I started out on Instagram as I was trying to use it and quickly got in the game, so I started taking photos on a daily basis. I was also one of the first people in Czech Republic to use drones for Instagram landscape photography, which helped me gain a lot of attention. But my main line of work is to travel, which is obviously quite fun yet sometimes really challenging.

What do you focus on in your art?

In my photos I try to bring the viewer as close as possible, and I try to show them different angles of the landscape I'm currently shooting. On the side, I also currently film videos for beginners trying out photography and organise photography workshops.

Considering you're a travel photographer, where have you travelled, and what's your favourite destination?

I've been to about 18 countries and my favourite locations have been Iceland and Switzerland.

Why did you decide to become a travel and landscape photographer?

I decided to pursue my career in photography out of my passion for nature and landscapes!
I got into crypto last summer, when a friend of mine told me about Binance and all the different cryptocurrencies out there. And I always wanted to make my art into something that would last longer than usual Instagram posts, which is why I've decided to mint my art on Featured. I use Binance on a daily basis!
